1/144 Hanomag SS-100 - by Strategist‏

1/144 Hanomag SS-100 - by Strategist‏

The SS-100 was based upon the civilian SS-100 'Gigant' agricultural heavy tractor , for military purposes it was fitted with a larger 4 door cab and a winch was also added to the rear. Around 700 of this type were produced between 1941 and 1945.

Perhaps more widely known for its use by the Wehrmacht in pulling the 'Vidalwagon' & 'Meillerwagen' used to transport V-2 rockets or T-Stoff & B-Stoff fuel trailers. It was however more widely used the Luftwaffe on airfields for pulling larger bombers or the me-323, bomb loads and again fuel trailers such as a the B-Stoff Bowers for the Me-163 Fighter programme.

After the war the SS-100s served on as heaver movers by German 'fairground' companies.

1. Independent rotating wheels.
2. Removal cab and upper body can be removed to reveal interior.

1/144 Nakajima G10N by Fujimi (update)

1/144 Nakajima G10N 'Fugaku' by Fujimi

Fujimi appears to be planning to release a G10N 'Fugaku' kit, interestingly its "No.1" indicating there could be other bombers in this series.

Its not clear if its resin or plastic injection, if plastic it should be cheaper than the Anigrand and somewhat easier to assemble...

How big is big?
Its slightly smaller than a Boeing B-36, so if your estimating the display space requirements
its 35x41cm)

The price on the image obviously indicates 3,000 Yen (inc HLJ, so its probably the corret price), although various Japanese retailers have it pegged between 9,000 to 12,000 Yen - so, it's not very clear.

Hobby Search has 4x Different models (possible decal and paint options?) and a combo pack....

1/144 TSR-2 (RAF) & Eurofighter (ITA/ESP) - Pitroad

1/144 TSR-2 (RAF) & Eurofighter (ITA/ESP) - Pitroad

TSR-2 Strike (RAF) - What If schemes!
PitRoad continue to release some interesting options around the TSR-2.
This release is the "Strike" option, with two RAF schemes, one looks credible, the other is more 'imaginative' - maybe a Gulf War I option (with shark teeth and smart bombs) would be an interesting option for a future release?

As well as the additional decals, the kits comes with a "large belly drop tanks" and sets of "Martel Missiles"

1/144 Pz.Kpfw I Ausf.F & Wespe - Panzer Depot

1/144 Pz.Kpfw I Ausf.F & Wespe - Panzer Depot
Panzer Depot has not one but two releases for you this week!

The unusual, but real Pz.Kpfw I Ausf.F variant, a surprisingly late development of the Panzer I concept, to provide fire support for infantry. Surprisingly, it did achieve operation status initially on the Eastern Front with the 1st Panzer Division, and latterly in the Balkans.

It had a crew of two, two MG34 7.62mm and a top speed of 25 km/h approximately 30 were built.

http://www.wehrmacht-history.com/heer/panzer-i/panzer-i-ausf-f.htm

The Sd.Kfz 124 "Wespe" is more familier item, based upon the Pz.Kpfw II chassis that had become outmoded as a tank. The original chassis had the turrets removed and were modified to mount the 10.5 cm leFH 18

Pz.Kpfw I - Panzer Grey $16.80
Pz.Kpfw I - Camo $16.80

Wespe - Panzer Grey $17.80

1/144 US Sherman Calliope Rocket Launcher T34

1/144 US Sherman Calliope Rocket Launcher T34 - CGD

The Sherman tank was the most widely used Allies tank in WWII. A lot of variations and updates were performed on the vehicles and some special purpose vehicles were also produced.

The Sherman Calliope was a successful attempt to mount the T34 Calliope System on a Sherman tank. The system was a multiple rocket launch system with 60 X 107mm rocket launching tubes. The system utilized the Sherman turret rotation and gun elevation as means of operation. The Sherman Calliope was able to deliver massive indirect support fire. But the effect, like other similar systems such as Soviet Katyusha or German Nebelwerfer, are more psychological than physical. About 200 were made in 1944.

CGD Sherman Calliope Full - $19.90 - (CGD@EBAY)
Takara WTM Calliope Conversion - $7.50 (CGD@EBAY)
