1/144 POPY Me-163 VS Takara

さっちゃんの144WORLD

主に1/144スケールのミリタリーモデル製作記なんかを気の向くままに書いていこうと思っています
.
.
This guy has taken a POPY Me-163 and linked it to the TAKARA LED & Battery Pack!
Nice Idea I think!
.
Check the rest of his blog for some other nice 1/144 models!
.

1/144 Takara "Famous Aircraft of the World" - "Wings of the Luftwaffe # 03"

vyxmf

Obviously the TA-154 is the main star of the FAOW/WOTL Series 3 and will be the most sought after item....unless those Me-262's turn up as specials...
.
But, what ever happened to the Me-163's that were in the original Series 1 promo shots (as was the Ta-154).... they have never shown up! - then you have the Arado 234's that appeared from now where!?
.
The Me 163s would have appeared soon after the POPY projekt fliegers but that has never stopped, Takara, bandai or Drafon releaseing items close to each other! - Look how many Zero's, Bf-109s, FW190s and Panthers are out there all within a short space, or released again and again?

more planes from Takara, the Moskito is the most intersting item on display!
,
,
But, stop!
.
What are those Me-262b III's in the back ground?
.
a Late arrival, another series or the "specials"?

Some pictures of the Merkava "Chariot", M113's
and some
Japanese Air Defence Force Fighters in cool paint schemes!
.
of course we now have "official" confirmation that this is going to be
"Series 17" NOT "Series 18",
so where does that place the "STUGs" that are highly sought after and are now delayed again!
.
i wonder when the decision was made as Series 16 documents had a different release schedule shown!

1/144 PLATZ KITS

1/144 PLATZ KITS
.
There is an interesting Gruman F-6F - vital for that "War in the Pacific".
you'll have to get that one lined up against your "Sweet" Green zero kit!?
.
There is also a modern weapons selection box, this should be a nice addtion to go along side the ARII A&B kits that have been around for some time!
.
As discussed a few days ago a Crusader F8-D!! not something you see everyday!!
.
The one interesting item is in the picture of the FW190 D9 JV44 kits, which of course are not actually than new,,,, there is a set of moulds used to produce injection plastic kits!

1/150 Tomytec MACHINAMI COLLECTION #6 !

45th Shizuoka Hobbyshow
1/150 Tomytec MACHINAMI COLLECTION #6 !
.
Two interesting sets of buildings!
.
One set does appear to be the Machinami Collection Series 6, which following on from series 5 seems to involve less items, but larger buildings! - it will be interesting to see if these have detailed interiors like 1-4 did (but not 5).
.
What is also interesting there seems to another new but related series going back to the smaller shops and stores of previous series - currently I do not have a name for this series but be sure to look for it, I think it woould be a popular series!

1/144 - "Imperial German Airforce"

Well ok, it looks like I have some distance to travell on the road to aircraft painting.....
-
This is an old "ARBA" 1/144 F190 D9 Kit (Resin & Metal) quite nice but not the easiet to build - quite easy to mess up the painting :)
-
The idea was to create a proper "Imperial german" FW190 as flown by the Red Baron had he survived the first world war.
-
It was a bit of an experiment, it hasnt quite worked but i think i have worked out why i went wrong so thats half the battle over..... The paint I used was a Tamiya Spray can of "Ferrari Red" in the end this was a little too bright and too shiney, I think a more subtle matte red would have been better? The weathering could have been done better - but by this stage I already new most of the battle had been lost!. To make a really proffesional job I should have used the alternative Imperial Decals i have which are the black Crosses in isolation and used painted bands on the fuselage and wings to mount them - I think this would looked good.
-
finaly the cockpit is not quite right! - the original had to be cut from a sheet and my knife wasnt sharp enough and caused problems (I know have a sharp knife - and a cut thumb!) - so I used an spare Bandai FW190 canopy, but sadly doesnt quite fit properl!
-
So Hope you not all dissapointed, but at least it show's that we all have our bad days!
-
Well there is always the MK.2 ?
-
My next project will be back to terra-firma!

1/144 Flakpanzers!

There has not been much interesting news in 1/144 this week, maybe it is due to the summer?
anyway, I have still been busy this week working on some model!
.
I have produced "KLEIN DESIGNS" Panzer IV "MOBELWAGON" Flakpanzer
and a TAKARA WTM (illustrated chronicles kit) Panzer IV "WIRBELWIND".
.
The WTM was straight forward, I had thought of replacing the WTM guns with a "POPY" 3.7 to make an "OSTWIND" but had so much trouble with the MOBELWAGON I settled for an Easy life!
.
The "KLEIN DESIGNS" panzer was a nice change, this required a "POPY" kit of the "Vierlinks" flak to provide the main armemants, but with the gun barrells replace with "KLIEN DESIGN" replacement BRASS BARRELLS!!.
.
I have also added a few extra peices of metal work to add detail to the "MOBELWAGON", having taken inspiration from "El-Basser"! I hope I have done this quite successfully and not detracted from the overall look? I also had to extract some of the tooling from resin which as not an easy job - I had to buy some new blades for my knife to ensure it was sharp enough, and yes, i cut my thumb!!
.
Finally, I tried not to use too much paint! just the base coat to represent 'Vallejo Acrylics - DUNKELGELB" and "Mr Metal Color - DARK IRON" for most of the painting plus a few blacks and browns. I did try a new weathering technique and rather than dry brushing I used PASTELS and brushed these on, it gives a much more subtle effect and is quite easy to mix them together, mainly Black, Light Grey, Earth Brown, Rust Red the good news on PASTELS is these were a box from the cheap book shop no need to spend money on fancy artistic pastels!

Blue Skies!

Sorry, I have "borowed" this image from the "Osaka Ggame Group", I think it is really cool especially when used as a PC Wallpaper!
.
Checkout the group here!
.
For most of my life I have lived near airports or under flight paths, there is something interesting, mystical and poetic about travellers...
.
What the traveller does, where they come from and where they go to, the trial, tibulations and adventures of humans all around the world!
.
It must be the equivelant of the sea ports of old with ships dissapearing over the horizon to new and distant lands!?
.
when i look to the skies it often causes me to dream and wonder!
...
..
.
In the interim I have been doing some models so expect some new photos to appear here in the next few days!
